Hazel Craig, originally from Newry, County Down, now spends her time between Surrey and County Londonderry.

Hazel’s love of gardening is reflected in her flower paintings and her cottage garden is a great source of inspiration. She has an affinity with the north coast of Ireland and the familiar landscapes have an impressionist’s slant. Her use of colour is fresh and innovative.  Working mainly in oils, the paintings are evocative and contain atmosphere and light.

She is an elected exhibiting member of Farnham Art Society and Guildford Art Society, and has also exhibited in various galleries in England and Northern Ireland.

As part of Surrey Open Studio, she has held solo exhibitions for the last five  years and is working towards this year’s  event in June.  Last year, she was one of fourteen Surrey artists chosen  to show their paintings in the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham.
